Online Safety
Online Safety
At Kitchener Primary School, we are committed to helping children stay safe, confident and responsible when using the internet and digital technologies. We recognise that online spaces are an important part of children’s lives, both in and out of school, and we work closely with families to support safe and positive online experiences.
Online safety is taught as part of our wider curriculum and is reinforced through assemblies, class discussions and daily learning. We help children to understand how to stay safe online, make good choices and know where to go if something doesn’t feel right.
Supporting Children Online
Children may use the internet for learning, gaming, communication and entertainment. While these experiences can be positive, they can also present challenges. We support pupils to:
- Understand how to stay safe when using the internet and digital devices
- Recognise and report anything that makes them feel uncomfortable or worried
- Use technology responsibly and respectfully
- Develop confidence to talk to a trusted adult if something goes wrong online
We also recognise the important role parents and carers play in supporting safe online use at home.

Working Together
We believe that the best way to keep children safe online is through open communication between school and home. If you ever have concerns about your child’s online activity or would like advice, please contact the school so we can support you.
Together, we can help children develop the skills, confidence and resilience they need to navigate the online world safely.
