School Uniform
At Kitchener Primary School, our uniform helps create a sense of belonging, equality and pride in our school community. We ask all pupils to wear the correct uniform each day, helping to promote a positive learning environment and a strong sense of identity.
School Uniform Expectations
All pupils are expected to wear school uniform unless otherwise stated (for example, on PE days or special events).
Reception to Year 5
- Blue jumper or cardigan
- White polo shirt
- Grey or black trousers, skirt or shorts
- Appropriate footwear (shoes or trainers – no sandals, flip flops or crocs)
Year 6
- Maroon jumper or sweatshirt
- Maroon dress (optional)
- Grey or black trousers or skirt
- Appropriate footwear
Physical Education (PE)
- Plain white PE top
- Black or grey shorts or joggers
- Trainers suitable for physical activity
- Hair should be tied back for PE
- Children wearing hijabs should wear a suitable sports hijab for PE
Jewellery and Appearance
- One small pair of stud earrings is permitted
- Watches may be worn, but no smart watches or devices with games
- No make-up or nail varnish should be worn
- Long nails or false nails are not permitted for safety reasons
Religious and Cultural Dress
We respect and support the wearing of religious dress. Religious headwear may be worn, and reasonable adjustments are always made to ensure inclusion while maintaining safety.
Non-Uniform and Special Days
On designated days, such as themed events or celebration days, pupils may be invited to wear alternative clothing. Families will always be informed in advance.

Pre-Loved Uniform
Our school holds second-hand uniform sales during the year to support families and promote sustainability. Information about upcoming sales will be shared via school communications.
