Welcome to Kitchener Primary, where every decision is based on the best interests of the children. We will always put the children first. Our carefully planned, inclusive curriculum provides rich and meaningful learning experiences that enable all children to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning, while supporting them to become the very best versions of themselves.

The children are kind and considerate; they take a genuine interest in one another, care for each other, are affectionate and love learning. They respect each other and all adults. Through high-quality teaching and purposeful learning opportunities, our children develop into confident communicators who can express their ideas clearly, think critically, solve problems creatively and work both independently and collaboratively. These skills are essential for success in school and throughout life.

Kitchener Primary is a large, multicultural school which celebrates the diversity of the Riverside area of Cardiff. Over 90% of our children come from ethnic minority backgrounds and more than 35 languages are spoken within our school community. This diversity enriches our curriculum and makes Kitchener Primary a vibrant and inclusive place to teach and learn. We value all of our cultures and celebrate how unique and different we all are.

Engaging the community through strong communication is something we feel very passionately about. We are a school within a community. The school is not only for our children but also for all of our families, and we are proud of the experiences and opportunities we provide.

We aim to provide a learning environment where children feel safe, happy and valued; where they feel connected to others, form healthy, positive relationships and develop the confidence to take risks, ask questions and think deeply.
