Community

At Kitchener Primary, we learn happily together through collaboration and mutual respect. We build strong, positive relationships with families, friends, classmates and staff, and we take pride in being part of the Riverside community. We are one community — the Kitchener Family.

We actively celebrate the rich cultural and religious diversity of our school. Children and families are encouraged to share their traditions and beliefs, and we recognise a wide range of religious festivals, including Christmas, Eid, Diwali and Vaisakhi. Community events, such as shared Iftars and school celebrations, bring families together and strengthen understanding and respect.

Promoting community cohesion is central to our values. Through meaningful learning experiences and whole-school events, children explore themes such as culture, belonging and integration. These opportunities help them develop empathy, respect and a strong sense of responsibility towards others.

We value parents as partners in learning and recognise them as their children’s first teachers. Workshops and shared learning opportunities help families understand how children learn and how they can provide support at home.

We also provide opportunities for parents to share their views through Headteacher Forums. These discussions ensure parent voices are heard and have led to meaningful developments within the school.

At Kitchener Primary, our community extends beyond the classroom. By working together, we create a supportive, inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and connected.
