Identity
At Kitchener Primary, we encourage children to learn about themselves and one another, developing respect for all cultures, languages and beliefs. We celebrate individuality while recognising the shared values that bring us together as a community.
Understanding identity is embedded throughout our curriculum rather than explored through isolated events. Children engage in meaningful learning that helps them develop a deeper awareness of who they are, where they come from and how identity shapes the world around them.
Our school environment reflects the community we serve. Displays, resources and learning materials represent our children and their lived experiences, helping them feel seen, respected and included. This supports children in developing a strong sense of belonging and confidence in expressing who they are.
Through shared experiences, community events and curriculum learning, children explore similarities and differences in ways that promote empathy, understanding and respectful dialogue.
At Kitchener Primary, celebrating identity helps children grow into thoughtful, open-minded individuals who value both their own experiences and those of others.
